Wszystkich nowo przybyłych czytelników mam zaszczyt powitać na moim blogu poświęconym szeroko pojętej sferze automatycznej identyfikacji. Począwszy od zwykłych etykiet papierowych, na skomplikowanych systemach skończywszy.
Dwa tygodnie temu udało mi się namówić jednego ze starych klientów do zakupu nowej drukarki Zebra ZT230. W dniu wczorajszym chłopaki z magazynu zakomunikowali mi (jak zwykle udając laików), że trafiła do nich przesyłka ze znanym napisem na kartonie: ZEBRA PRINTER. Okazało się, że mój Vendor z dostawą nowego modelu uwinął się szybciej niż przypuszczałem.
Rozpakowywaniu Zebry ZT230 – jak zawsze w takich momentach – towarzyszyła skrajna ciekawość zawodowa: jak mocno rzeczywistość zweryfikuje sieciowe opisy, zdjęcia i filmiki. Po otwarciu pudła, moim oczom jako pierwszy ukazał się stary poczciwy styropian (stanowiący zabezpieczenie podczas transportu), a nie pseudo ekologiczne, papierowo-tekturowe wytłaczanki jak do jajek – mały plus gatunkowy na początek. Pierwszy rzut oka na drukarkę przyniósł pierwsze wnioski. Obudowa: równie solidna i wykonana z identycznych materiałów jak ta, którą możemy spotkać w modelu Zebra ZM400.
Dostęp do wnętrza dzięki „łamanej” pokrywie jest jeszcze łatwiejszy niż w Zebrze S4M czy gk420. Pomimo mniejszych gabarytów w porównaniu do starszych sióstr, czyli drukarek Zebra ZM600 oraz Zebra ZM400, do środka wciąż możemy założyć ribbon w nawoju 450 mb. Rolka etykiet samoprzylepnych przeznaczona dla tego modelu może być nawijana na gilzę o średnicy wewnętrznej fi 40 mm, dzięki czemu bez problemu jesteśmy w stanie zawrzeć w jednej rolce 150 mb. wstęgi z etykietami. Inżynierowie mocno przemodelowali mechanizm głowicy, sposób jej zamknięcia i regulację docisków. Za to ostatnie duży plus, ponieważ jest znacznie bardziej przyjazna użytkownikowi niż ta, którą na co dzień spotykany w modelach Zebra ZM400.
Parametry pracy związane z wydajnością i precyzją druku etykiet termo transferowych są według mnie w pełni wystarczające, zwłaszcza dla przeciętnego użytkownika. Jak będzie z trwałością poszczególnych elementów nowego modelu Zebra ZT230 i ogólnie pojętą żywotnością – czas (a w szczególności użytkownicy) pokaże.
Nowy model drukarki Zebra idealnie wpasowuje się w (pustą jak do tej pory) niszę pomiędzy modelami S4M, a GK420, a biorąc pod uwagę stosunek ceny do oferowanej jakości i parametrów druku ma dużą szansę osiągnąć sukces rynkowy porównywalny z tym, jaki odniosła jej większa i legendarna już dzisiaj siostra – drukarka Zebra ZM400.
